Marco Lopez has 30 years of experience bringing new technologies to market in the media and live sectors, including leading Belden’s acquisition of Grass Valley. In the mid-2000s, he was instrumental in developing the Active Format Description (AFD) standard that defined aspect ratio control between standard and high-definition broadcasting. The project won an Emmy Award in 2011 and was adopted by SMPTE. Later, Lopez championed IP standards for broadcast through the AIMS nonprofit initiative, setting the groundwork for what is today SMPTE 2110. At Clear-Com, he spearheads innovation in product development, with a special focus on IP and cloud-based offerings.
