Kunal Sawarkar is an AI product guy, with a specialty in converting nascent research ideas into profitable ventures. He is a distinguished engineer for generative AI and chief data scientist for IBM Ecosystem. Sawarkar has been practicing GenAI since before the term was coined, successfully embedding AI into the products of large and small companies. With a background in applied statistics from Harvard University, he is also an angel investor, tech partner for VCs, and startup mentor with a focus on AI and ClimateTech.

Sawarkar is the author of the book Deep Learning with PyTorch Lightning, and when not working on AI, he enjoys rock climbing, flying planes, and astronomy.
