John Lee was Executive director of technology solutions for CBC/Radio-Canada – Canada’s national public broadcaster – where he served for 38 years until his retirement. In this role, he was responsible for all digital television and radio transmission facilities, all satellite stations and facilities, all telecommunications networks, mobility services, IP telephony, and unified communications; and for IT, all data centers, end-user computers, applications, information security, and governance.

Lee was chairman of the World Broadcasting Union’s (WBU) and the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA)’s Technical Committees and is currently chairman of NABA’s Cyber Security Sub-Committee. He is a digital engineering consultant working for NABA and for several large organizations.

Lee is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, the Video Services Forum, SMPTE, and other industry committees and associations.
