Florian Brown was born in Northern Germany in 1975. He graduated high school from Parkway South High School in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO. Brown joined the United States Army and trained as a combat medic, field hospital nurse, and small weapons armorer. In 1996, after transitioning to the U.S. Army Reserves, thanks to the guidance of his father who was an established senior audio mixer, Brown started in remote broadcast TV as a utility locally in St. Louis. The XXVI Olympiad in Atlanta was the first time someone paid to travel him to an event.

Since then, Brown has worked almost every sport that is broadcasted, as the senior audio engineer, also known as the A1. As a freelancer he has been employed by many different networks that include broadcasts of the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, IRL, NASCAR, PGA, NCAA, X Games, Tennis, Bowling, Volleyball, and Olympics; almost every remote studio show you could imagine; and the NFL Draft, NBA Draft, College Gameday, and SportsCenter.

Brown has been fortunate to win four Emmy Team Technical Awards for his work on ESPN 3D, X games, US Open Tennis, and the Super Bowl pre game show. He is currently the senior A1 for NBC’s PGA Golf coverage which includes the The Players Championship, U.S. Open, British Open, and the Ryder and Presidents Cup. On top of all of that, this is Brown’s seventh year as the audio advisor and mixer for ESPN’s tennis coverage which includes Wimbledon and the Australian and New York Opens.

Brown lives in Tarpon Springs, FL with his family.
