Scott McBurney is entering his 25th year with the Atlantic Coast Conference overseeing original content production and video distribution in the league office. Hired to impact ACC awareness in local and national sports programming, McBurney has been involved in developing distribution methods to meet the ever expanding role that video can have in spreading the message of the conference and its 15 member institutions.
The Advanced Media department is responsible for disseminating a variety of short and long-form content across all conference-controlled social platforms, national and local sports outlets, and the ACC Network. McBurney has implemented 3 AVID Media Composer edit bays and uses AVID Interplay and Telestream Vantage within the postproduction workflow. Archiving and asset management workflows are also in place to handle the league office’s vast video archives.
Before his move to the ACC, McBurney served as executive producer of sports productions at WGHP-TV in High Point, NC. He spent 11 years at WGHP and prior to that earned a Bachelor of Science degree in radio, television, and film from Northwestern University. He also received a Master of Fine Arts in broadcasting/cinema from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
