Ryan Lakey, the principal lead for CHESA’s solutions and consulting team, boasts over 25 years of professional media experience. His extensive background includes 18 years in network broadcasting, including 12 years of international media experience. Over the course of his illustrious career, Lakey has been honored with numerous prestigious awards, including seven Peabody Awards, an Emmy Award from NATAS, a Dupont Award, and an IBC Innovation Award. His remarkable achievements are a testament to his expertise and dedication to the field.

Lakey’s career has seen him excel in a wide array of roles across the media spectrum. His skills encompass broadcast engineering, studio production, field production, audio engineering, electronic news gathering, videography, photography, editing, graphic arts, post production, broadcast operations, quality control, media workflow design, system architecture, and web and information technologies. This versatility has allowed him to contribute significantly to each organization he has been a part of, including notable employers such as One Diversified, Arvato Systems GMBH, CNN, and ABC News.

At ABC News, Lakey played a pivotal role in pioneering content delivery systems that facilitated file distribution to partners and affiliates, enhancing the efficiency and reach of news production. During his tenure at CNN, he held the First Media Operations Chair, where he was instrumental in overseeing the quality control, media management, and daily operations of all New York-based shows. His unique blend of creative abilities has led him to work on high-profile stories such as the Miracle on the Hudson, the Michael Jackson Funeral, September 11th, the DNC & RNC, Election Coverage, the Arab Spring, the Gulf Oil Spill, the Martha Stewart Trial, the DC Sniper, the Red Lake School Shooting, the Whitney Houston Funeral, the USS Cole Memorial, and numerous National Weather Stories, including hurricanes and blizzards.

In his current role at CHESA, Lakey continues to leverage his vast experience and skills to provide media consulting services to broadcasters, sports teams, corporations, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. Over the past two years, he has successfully consulted on, designed, and deployed systems across a wide range of production workflows. Based in Phoenix, AZ, Lakey remains a dynamic and influential figure in the media industry, consistently demonstrating his ability to adapt and excel in both technical and creative aspects of his work.
