In 2017, Courtney Spencer joined MediaBridge as its third managing partner. Spencer has played central roles in key company transactions, including the sales of Solid State Logic and Sound Devices to Audiotonix, Audix Microphones to Videndum (prev. Vitec Group), and Moog Music to inMusic. When MediaBridge was founded, Spencer joined as a senior industry advisor and helped drive transactions including the sale of Minnetonka Audio Software to Telos Alliance and the PE financing of Cambridge MA-based audio software innovator iZotope.
Previously, Spencer was senior vice president, professional audio, Americas, for D&M Holdings, overseeing Calrec, Allen & Heath, and Denon/Marantz Pro. He was a member of the company’s M&A team, playing key roles in the acquisitions of Calrec and Allen & Heath. Spencer was Sony’s VP/GM, Pro Audio for 12 years. Over that time, he led the group through the launch of over 100 pro audio products from signal processors and wireless microphones and high-end digital multitrack recorders and recording consoles.
Spencer was previously VP of sales for WaveFrame Corp, an early DAW pioneer. Before that, Courtney was VP/GM of Martin Audio Video, then the largest pro audio dealer in the U.S. Earlier industry experiences include consulting, management roles with studio architecture and acoustical/system design firms, and over a decade as a radio producer and recording engineer for a leading NYC-based radio production company.
