Gargano Leadership Group
Founder

Chris Gargano’s drive to learn and improve has always been a guiding force. His never-ending quest to get better (as well as a deep love of baseball) led him to the Saint Mary’s College of California Baseball team where he also achieved a B.A. in communications.

Gargano was always fascinated by what makes people great and how they perform at such high levels. The earlier part of his career was spent as a reporter and storyteller. He’s had the privilege of working alongside and sharing the stories of some of the best athletes, coaches, and business leaders in sports.

Throughout his career, Gargano led talented teams in the content departments for the Oakland Raiders (2002-2008), San Francisco Giants (2008-2015), and New York Jets (2016-2023). Together, they earned numerous content awards, including 14 Emmys, which are testaments to their teamwork, creativity, and leadership.

Being part of the San Francisco Giants’ front office for three World Series-winning teams (2010, 2012, and 2014), Gargano witnessed and was part of leadership at its finest – everyone collaborating towards a common goal.

Driven to broaden his worldview on the art and science of leadership, Gargano returned to Saint Mary’s to earn a master’s degree in leadership studies in 2016. Two years later, he began teaching leadership as an adjunct faculty member at NYU’s School of Professional Studies.

During his time at the New York Jets, Gargano also created and taught a successful leadership workshop program for emerging leaders, focusing on enhancing communication, self-awareness, and culture. It was his true passion for leadership and service that led to him founding the Gargano Leadership Group in 2022.

Today, Gargano’s primary focus is just that – sharing key leadership strategies, drawing from decades of cross-sectional experience in storytelling, leadership, education, and coaching. He is dedicated to helping organizations, companies, universities and individuals achieve their highest potential.

GLG also features a weekly podcast, Keep the Line Moving, which Gargano hosts and produces showcasing the leadership stories of prominent CEOs, presidents, athletes, coaches, authors, and educators.
