Michael Francis

CBS Sports, Director, Remote Engineering and Technical Operations

Michael Francis joined CBS Sports in July of 2016 to coordinate remote engineering and technical operations. He oversees all engineering-related initiatives for CBS Sports major properties including the NFL, SEC college football, the Masters, PGA Golf, and NCAA college basketball.

Prior to joining CBS, Francis spent 14 years working in live sports and entertainment broadcasting for industry innovators such as Game Creek Video, serving as the director of technology, engineering manager, and engineer-in-charge. He also served as the engineer-in-charge for Mobile TV Group. At Game Creek Video, Francis played an integral role in the design and configuration of the first uncompressed IP router truck, Encore. He was also part of the leadership team for live telecasts such as The Masters, the PGA Championship, the US Open, the World Series, the NBA Finals, and the College Football National Championship.

Francis was raised in Colorado and is a graduate of Western State Colorado University with a degree in communications with a mass media emphasis. Francis now lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife and two children.
