Erin Harvego

Big Ten Network, VP, Marketing

Erin Harvego oversees marketing for BTN, including brand positioning and strategy, media buying, creative, communications, on-air promotions, and event marketing. Under her leadership, the department has been recognized as the winner of numerous national cable competitions including multiple ACC Beacon, Addy, CableFaxie, CTAM Mark, ProMAXBDA, and Cynopsis awards.

Harvego launched the network’s branding campaign in 2007 with the tagline, “This is Big Ten Country.” She developed BTN’s first pro-social initiative – BTN LiveBIG – which showcases the community of Big Ten students, faculty, and alumni making a difference in the world through research, education, and community service. Harvego also created the fan-favorite BTN Big 10K race, which is one of the largest 10k’s in the country. The BTN Big10K has attracted more than 60,000 runners since its inception, bringing tens of thousands of Big Ten fans each year to Chicago to compete.

Most recently, she oversaw the marketing activation and promotion of BTN Tailgate, the network’s football pregame show that travels to a different Big Ten school each week. She also piloted BTN’s esports competition launching BTN League of Legends, a season-long intercollegiate esports competition between Big Ten schools.

Prior to joining BTN, Harvego was the director of marketing for Rainbow Sports Networks (Cablevision), managing marketing and communication initiatives for five Cablevision owned-and-operated regional sports networks. She developed and implemented a self-empowerment event for middle and high school girls featuring Olympic gold medalists Mia Hamm, Sue Bird, and Jennie Finch. Harvego also held marketing and communications positions at Fox Sports Arizona and Fox Sports Northwest prior to joining Cablevision.

She received her Bachelor of Science in communication from the University of Utah and a Masters of Sports Administration from Ohio University.
